The final event of the 1st Edition of the Emerge Program took place on the 7th and 8th of February.
Housed at the newly opened Casa do Impacto in Lisbon, Trivalor and its partners organized a two-day event of innovation-overload with a strong focus on identifying the best matches for future pilot implementations.
During the two-day final round of Emerge, a group of international startups that aced the application and interview process got a chance to show their solution and pitch directly the Trivalor companies.
Each finalist got the stage for 10 minutes and then participated in a one-to-one match-up round to discuss their vision for a future collaboration directly with the Trivalor representatives.
We were amazed by the diversity of extraordinary innovators that applied for the Emerge program, presenting different technologies that could apply to a wide range of market segments.
Although all of the shortlisted candidates presented incredibly relevant solutions to a series of key areas for Trivalor’s operations, five among them were able to stand out and were offered a pilot implementation with Trivalor companies. Aligned with the company’s sustainability and innovation objectives, the successful startups were selected, based not only on compatibility with our current needs but also technology readiness for a large-scale pilot.
Portuguese startup Heptasense, represented by its CEO Ricardo Santos, was the big winner of the Emerge Pitch final round, receiving a €5,000 award. With a killer AI real-time threat detection software, the company specialises in security services and is already piloting its technology with Trivalor’s Strong Charon.
The other winners include the Portuguese Tuki Today, Foods for Tomorrow from Spain, Easylife from Italy and Enterprise bot from Switzerland.
These startups have since started running pilots with Trivalor’s companies and thus, testing their technology based on real market needs and conditions.
The second round for the Emerge scale-up program will be opening again this autumn!
